Last week I got a call from Harriet Torry at the Wall Street Journal, who was reporting a story on the Hill Country Floods and recreational vehicles (RVs).
What are the limitations of using PUMS data from the ACS on whether someone lives in a vehicle? can you make inferences at the tract level using group quarters population as a point of reference?
Great question, and not one that I have dug too deeply on...ACS includes an 'other' on RVs, boats, etc. but not sure if it classifies RV parks as group quarters. I'll look into it.
Any and all need evacuate warnings regardless of social standing. The sheer questioning of why tourists should receive warnings seems to imply their unwaivering disdain for part of their income pool. We all are human and adverse reaction is disgusting. A life is a life.
