Manufactured housing, and factory-built housing in-general, has tremendous potential for helping address our nation’s housing crisis. It is also viewed by some - fairly or unfairly - as vulnerable to climate extremes like hurricanes and tornadoes. This week we launched a new report that provides foundational analysis of manufactured housing and climate risk. We dig into the details of manufactured housing’s exposure to climate hazards (there is a lot of it) and identify key themes about resilience from interviews with 44 experts from different corners of the manufactured housing ecosystem.
We also held a terrific event at Urban this week that coincided with the report’s publication, which featured a host of experts from organizations like Next Step Network, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and MHAction. You can view the entire event here.
